Bio
Marcus is a skillful, creative and passionate musician, capable of executing guitar parts and bass lines to a professional standard. He is armed with the creative ideas that can help take a track or a project to the next level, from arranging tricks to unique and original chords voicings and parts.
Growing up in France, Marcus developed a passion from a young age for music and playing guitar, discovering and attempting to play songs from bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Dream Theater. At the age of 17, after excelling in his French scientific baccalaureate, he moved to London to begin a BTEC diploma in guitar performance at BIMM. During this one-year course, he met and played with many like-minded musicians, began playing bass, and started taking part in the London gigging scene. This confirmed his ambition to become a full time musician, and he enrolled in the BA degree in professional musicianship at BIMM the following year.
During this degree, Marcus has joined multiple original projects, as a band member but also as a co-writer, developing not only his performance skills, but also his ability to arrange songs and lead rehearsals, in a wide variety of genres. He also gained stage experience by performing a multitude of gigs, playing in venues such as the Half Moon Putney, the 100 Club, and the Ned. During his degree, Marcus performed nine different songs at BIMM end of term showcases on both guitar and bass, playing a mix of covers and originals ranging from metal to pop-soul on stages such as O2 Sheperd’s Bush or O2 Islington. Other highlights of his time at BIMM include gigging in Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland with original band FVRmind, performing on multiple occasions with some of his tutors as deputy guitarist for Wolf Moon, releasing a six-song EP with rock project D’Haze, and opening with progressive metal band SOCO for Kanoo.
